Happy Monday! Today I want to review this gorgeous blush from Sleek. You might know I love pink blushes for spring and summer so when I saw this one I decided I needed it, even though I already own way too many blushes.
First of all, the packaging. One of my favorite things about Sleek products is the way they look, they look way more expensive than they really are. The case is matte black with shiny black letters. On the inside is a small mirror which is great if you want to touch up your make up during the day. The only downside of the pretty matte packaging is that it gets dirty really quickly.
The blush itself is in the color Flamingo 937 which is a bright pink, matte color. It’s very pigmented so you have to make sure you don’t apply too much. It gives your cheeks a very healthy color and I think it will work for many skin tones. So I really like it and I only payed around 5 euros for it which is quite a bargain for a good quality product like this!
A few months ago I decided I needed a primer. I used the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation back then and because it has a quite dewy finish it didn’t stay on all day. So I went out and bought the Max Factor Face Finity Primer because I read a few promising reviews about it. I never reviewed it but I figured better late than never so here we go!
This primer contains micro-correctors that absorb oils and this way mattifies your skin. Before I use it I apply a moisturizer. Otherwise the primer can be quite hard to apply (and if I’m wearing foundation I want to take some extra care of my skin). It gives a beautiful matte finish and feels nice on my skin. I’m not sure if it extends the wear of my foundation, I just don’t see much difference. It’s not an amazing product but also not horrible. Plus the packaging is gorgeous so it looks nice in your make up collection (that might be one of the reasons I bought it to be honest). I won’t repurchase it just because of the fact that it doesn’t really make my foundation last longer, which is a shame because I love the finish it gives.
I’ve been quite absent lately but I have a big deadline for school next week so I don’t have much time to write a post. But because it’s finally weekend I decided to take a break and write a quick review on the makeup sponge applicator I bought a few weeks ago. I bought this applicator in Germany and I think this brand is only available there but there are many applicators like these on the market so I think this review is helpful anyway.
Most of the time I apply foundation or BB cream with the Zoeva 104 Buffer Brush which I love but I read so many good things about Beautyblenders I really wanted to try one out. There was only one thing that I didn’t like that much, the price of an official Beautyblender. So when I saw this applicator for only 3 euros I decided to try it out. And man was it a good choice. You can barely detect foundation if I apply it with this sponge, especially if I dampen it with warm water before I use it. My skin looks flawless and very natural. Because of the shape I can reach each area in my face. Even if I apply foundation that doesn’t match my skin completely it looks natural if I use this applicator. I was a bit sceptic about this product but I’m absolutely sold. I might even invest in a real Beautyblender. Love it!
Happy 2015! I hope you all had a great New Years Eve. I hope 2015 will be a wonderful year for each and every one of you. In this post I promised I would write a review on the beauty bits I bought on my trip to Germany. Today I will review the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and a Rival the Loop Lipstick.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – 10
First the concealer. I’m always on the hunt for a good wand concealer. Somehow most make up brands don’t sell concealers with a wand applicator in the Netherlands so when I saw the Maybelline Fit Me concealer I really wanted to try it out. I bought it in the shade 10. It was the lightest shade available but unfortunately it’s still quite dark on my skin but when I wear foundation the color is quite good. Plus it has a very pretty finish and a great coverage. In the first scary picture of my eye I don’t wear any concealer, on the second (also scary) picture of my eye I wear the Fit Me concealer.
Rival the Loop Lipstick – 40
On to the lipstick. I never heard of the brand Rival the Loop but that isn’t a surprise because it’s only available in Germany. I bought shade 40 which is a beautiful cherry red color. It has quite a creamy texture but once it’s on it has a more matte finish. The best thing is that it stays on for hours! Plus it only was 3 Euros which is an amazing price for such a great lipstick.
I also bought a make up sponge applicator but I will review that in a separate post. Thank you for reading!
